Privacy Policy

Points Points is a playground dots game published by Little Think Solution ("we"). This page explains what data is used when you play, why, and what choices you have. In short: there is no account to create, and when you play offline we receive no data about you. The data that leaves your phone is used to show ads (Google AdMob), to measure how well our ads on Facebook and Instagram work (Meta, with your consent), to measure how the game is used (GameAnalytics, with your consent), if you are signed in to Game Center or Google Play Games, to save your progress, achievements and scores with Apple or Google, and, if you play online with a friend, to run those games on our server (your first name, your avatar and your online games).
1. What stays on your phone
Your progress is stored on your device: player names, avatar, stars, school journey in each section, exams and diplomas, notebooks and their scores, items obtained with stars, and settings (language, sound, vibration). This information is never sent to us. It is deleted when you uninstall the game, except for the copy saved with Apple or Google (see section 2).
The game does not ask for an account, an email address or a phone number. It does not access your location, contacts, camera or microphone. When you share a game or a diploma and choose to save it, the image is added to your photos: the game can only add images, not read your photos.
2. Game Center and Google Play Games (optional)
If you are signed in to Game Center (iPhone, iPad) or Google Play Games (Android), the game uses it, without ever requiring it, to:
- unlock your achievements and post your scores to the leaderboards (stars earned, school journey, wins);
- save a copy of your progress, so you can get it back on another phone or after reinstalling: in iCloud (key-value storage of your Apple account) on iPhone and iPad, and in Google Play saved games on Android.
Your player nickname and scores may be visible to other players, depending on your Game Center or Google Play Games settings. This data is handled by Apple and Google under their own rules (Apple Privacy Policy, Google Privacy Policy); we have no access to it. To avoid using them, simply do not sign in, or sign out in your phone's settings: the game works normally.
3. Online play (optional)
Since version 1.4.0, you can play a friend on their own phone. The game then connects to our game server (jeu.pointspoints.net), only when you open "Online". To run the games, this server stores:
- the first name chosen in your profile and your drawn avatar, shown to the friend you play;
- a player ID created by the game and, if you are signed in to Game Center or Google Play Games, the player ID given to you by Apple or Google, to recognize you on another phone (without your name or email address);
- your online games: date, mode, players, moves, score and result, for the record between friends and the leaderboards.
The IP address of your connection is used to run it and to protect it against abuse; it is not kept with your games. There is no chat between players, only predefined reactions ("Well played!"…). The code or link of a game is only shared by you, with whoever you choose. Your phone also keeps the history of your latest online games, so you can look back at them and share them.
The server is hosted by Hetzner, in Germany. Its database is backed up every night, encrypted, with Cloudflare (R2). Technical errors of the server are sent to Sentry so we can fix them. Your online game data is kept as long as you play; you can ask us to delete it at any time (section 9). If you do not play online, nothing is sent to our server.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game is free and funded by ads: videos you choose to watch in exchange for a reward, and occasionally a full-screen ad between two games (never during a game). These ads are provided by Google AdMob, which may collect and use:
- the device's advertising ID (Android);
- the IP address and technical information about the device (model, system, language);
- information about the ads shown and your interactions with them.
This data is used to show ads, measure their performance, limit how often they repeat and prevent fraud. It is processed by Google under its own rules: how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
On iPhone and iPad, the game does not ask for permission to track you across apps, so Apple's advertising identifier is not used.
5. Measuring our ads (Meta)
To find out whether our ads on Facebook and Instagram bring new players, the game uses Meta's SDK (App Events). It only starts after the ad choices message (section 7): in Europe, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, only if you agreed to information being stored on your device. It then sends Meta:
- the installation and opening of the game;
- a few game milestones: lesson completed, grade passed, diploma earned, rewarded video watched;
- technical information about the device (model, system, language, IP address) and, on Android, the device's advertising ID.
The game does not use Facebook Login: it never sends your name, email address or contacts. On iPhone and iPad, Apple's advertising identifier is not used: measurement is aggregated by Apple's own system (SKAdNetwork). This data is processed by Meta under its Privacy Policy. You can also manage this information in your Facebook or Instagram account ("Activity off Meta technologies").
6. Measuring how the game is used (GameAnalytics)
To know how the game is used and improve it (at which grade players stop, whether exams are too hard, whether the star economy is balanced), the game uses GameAnalytics. Like Meta's measurement, it only starts after the ad choices message (section 7): in Europe, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, only if you agreed that information may be stored on your device. It then receives:
- game events: start and end of games against Gnidan and of exams (grade, section, mark), stars earned and spent, rewarded videos watched, mode played, online games created, shares;
- technical information: device model and system, language, country derived from the IP address, game version, session length, and an installation ID created by GameAnalytics (on Android, with your consent, the device's advertising ID).
This data contains neither your first name nor your email address. It is processed by GameAnalytics under its privacy policy. Withdrawing your consent (Settings › Ad choices) also stops this measurement.
7. Your consent (Europe, United Kingdom, Switzerland)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a Google message asks for your consent before any personalised advertising and before Meta's measurement. You can change your choice at any time in the game: Settings › Ad choices; Meta's measurement then stops too. Without your consent, non-personalised ads may be shown.
Everywhere else, you can limit personalised ads in your phone's settings (Android: Settings › Google › Ads; iPhone: Settings › Privacy & Security).
8. Age
Points Points is intended for players aged 13 and over. It is not designed for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data about them.
9. Your rights
For your online game data (first name, avatar, player ID, games), write to us at [email protected] with the first name you use in the game and, if possible, the code of a game: we can send it to you, correct it or delete it. The rest of your progress stays on your phone and is not sent to us. For data processed by Google (advertising, Google Play Games), by Meta (ad measurement) or by Apple (Game Center, iCloud), you can exercise your rights (access, deletion, objection) with them, or withdraw your consent as described above.
10. The pointspoints.net website
To know how many people visit this website, where they come from and whether they then go to the App Store or Google Play, the website uses PostHog, hosted in the European Union. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser: it does not recognize you from one visit to the next, and does not record your screen. It receives the pages viewed, the page you came from, the type of device and browser, the language, the country derived from your IP address, and clicks on the store buttons. Your IP address is not kept. If your browser asks not to be tracked ("Do Not Track"), nothing is measured. The website is hosted by Cloudflare. The game itself does not use PostHog.
11. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date. Significant changes will be announced in the game.
